Finally, I sat down and relaxed. Most days are long but today was even worse. Delayed flights, overcrowded trains, long meetings, unnecessary catch-ups, more long meetings, then a draining 'networking' event before an arduous journey home.
I lifted my phone before putting it straight back down again. No point in checking emails; no point in catching up with the news; no point even in calling anyone. I was logging off for the day.
I picked up the cold wine glass and took a long, well-deserved drink. I sighed contentedly. This was all I had to think about now.
