Dear Death,

My mom is making me go to Bible school. She says that if I write letters to God, I won’t have to write to you anymore. I’m not sure how I feel about it.

Here’s a secret: after class, I snuck around the church a little bit. I saw the priest write a letter. You know what he wrote? “Dear Angel of Death.”

I don’t think anyone gets to stop writing to you. I think they just get a nicer vocabulary for it. I could write “Dear God” if I wanted but the address is still the same.
