The vacuum roared, eradicating dust bunnies from under the radiator.
The glint of metal caught her eye, and she stooped to investigate.
It was a barrette that must've been more than sixty years old.
She tried to imagine the woman who might've worn such an item, but shrugged it off, placing the barrette on the shelf.
As she lay in her bed, fast asleep, a chill filled the room.
The cold woke her, and as she pulled the covers up, a luminescent woman appeared near her bed.
"Thank you," she said. "I've been searching for that for a long time."
