Favorite

She set me down on the bed. Her fingers brushed gently along my spine; I remained motionless. She stood up and took off her clothes, only to change into her night clothes.

She dove onto the bed and crawled towards me. She lifted my cover to expose myself. Her eyes scanned my body for what seemed like forever. I long to touch her face, but can't.

"I love you," she said.
"I love you too." But of course she didn't hear that. Never did she, nor will she ever.

"My favorite book," she said, lifting me up to hug me.
