Rodolph shivered.
Even the thick fur he wore couldn't keep him from being soaked.
He ran along the muddy path, until he reached the dripping Old Elm, the most ancient being in the northern woods.

"Why me?", he complained to the universe.
His life had been so wonderful, after his peers had finally accepted him, in spite of his ... singular guise.
Oh, the happiness, when the old man asked him out, turning nature's flaw into a quality feature ...

Everything had been great and still would be, hadn't there been the typo in Catriona's wishlist:

"Rodolph the Rain Deer"
