At midnight in a tower sat
a little animal, a bat.
And also 'neath the tower top
there was some huge thing - like a drop.

The animal, it jumped the thing
which seemed to be a funny swing.
But as the creature sat and swung,
it missed the shell that also hung
embracing like a hull the seat
where it sat so snuggly, neat.

Higher, higher swung the bat,
screeched "Heyahooo" and just went mad.
Until with last a "HeyaHooo"
the animal was
gone
(or so)

The watchman scratched his balding skull.
The bell's first stroke ... had sounded

dull.

One of the best drabble poems I've read. Fantastic!

Thanks. I must admit, that it's not THAT new. It has been much longer. I wanted to find out, if I can redo it in 100 words.

Also I am not a native speaker, speaking Norwegian and German, mainly.
