"It's not my fault!" Milly screamed.

Harold was having none of that. "If it wasn't you who was it? Certainly wasn't me."

Imelda strained her eyes to see out the window. There was no movement in the street.

"If SOMEBODY hadn't left the cage open he wouldn't have gotten out." His voice was humourless.

"Yeah? And if you hadn't driven him to the vet's last week he wouldn't have worked out how to steal the car. Now would he?"

Harold was starting to regret buying that genetically enhanced ferret. Perhaps Slinky was a little TOO clever for his own good.
