Nothing, there is nothing. She reaches out to nothing. Straining to listen, she hears nothing. Not even her heartbeat or her breathing. She knows she is not dead and yet, she is afraid a slow death is overtaking her.
In a far recess of her mind, they are all there, waiting for her, expectantly. Disappointed in her, she knows. They are calling to her, ''what is this ailment afflicting you?''
She is not in pain but she is hurting for them. Her words, her stories, her characters. All lost! She betrayed them and unless she writes something soon, they'll die.

This is a good piece of writing about writing.

Don't know if you've ever tried picking a few random words and linking them into a story?

A great idea, Jamie! It works too! One of the writers in my village writers' group suggested that we go to thejohnfox.com, where John Fox (I guess) has 50 really good exercises to improve writing and eliminate writer's block. and it really works!
Maybe I'll drabblify another one of my stories from a thejohnfox' exercise story...
And, Frenchie, you are not alone on the writer's block front! And very much welcome back!

In fact, my drabble series called 'Aromance' was a direct result of one of the 'thejohnfox' exercises, in his Senses category.

Must check it out. 😃

Thanks Jaimie and Neville. I have been struggling to write for a while because I have not made the time to write. Aha, too much work and no play is not good at all. Writing is usually my ''me time''. I will check on the 'thejohnfox' exercise. 🫶
