A grey world

I woke up this morning and the world was grey
Something happened in the night
That took all the warmth and the colours away
Living me freezing and without a light.

Then I saw you, walking away from me
I tried to call but no sound came out
I tried to run but something prevented me
I tried to hug you but could not reach out.

You turned, tears in your eyes mirroring mine
You looked at me with intense sadness
And just like this, you were gone from my life
Leaving me alone with my despair, breathless.
