Transformation

I dropped the boss and his wife in their finery and drove the horses round to the yard. Two of the other fellows had come in a coach of an unusual design and colour. They had rather sharp faces and when our food came out, they scoffed most of the cheese.

Just before midnight, a girl rushed out and jumped into the strange coach. They galloped away but as they went out of sight, there was an enormous blue flash.

A strange thing was that as the girl dashed down the steps, I noticed she was wearing only one shoe.
