I was in a bookshop thumbing through paperbacks
My girlfriend walked down to the station
Thinking I was following, I always do
She went on the platform to wait
Me, looking at the books in the shop
Ignoring the world for a few minutes to focus
Suddenly I realise she has left me and I race to the station
Reach the platform, to my sorrow she has left
What an idiot, if I follow on the train, will I find her
We are always connected by an invisible thread I've let break
Even waking up from the dream doesn't help

Those damn dreams! Why don’t they resolve things properly?
