Ten feet of sheer metal frustration.
He’d missed the mark every time he’d tried to climb the fence. After failing, he’d found food, comfort, and sex distracted him.
His dreams of mounting the towering structure led him to clamber atop a nearby dumpster. He assessed the distance, yet nothing but slip and slide, crash and burn.
One day, a ladder rested against the wall. Silent pulses shook his body as he rose to seven feet, then nine. His back stretched as he leaped. Yet making the jump had a down side.
Unleashed junkyard dogs have an abiding hatred of tomcats.
