On my way
Wow! That was GREAT!!! I’m on my way to Mars. They blasted off and accelerated until we started moving out of the Earth’s orbit. Out, out slowly until we reach the orbit of Mars. And Mars travels round its orbit at 87,000 miles an hour and eventually we shall match that.
But enough of that boring stuff, you want to know about ME. Well Bob (Neville) suggested me and here I am, off on my adventures. Firstly on Mars, then, well, you will find out if you read more episodes.
For now we have left the Earth starting my Journey!

This is exciting, cosmic stuff, Richard. Marsha sounds like a fun girl, with a love of adventure. Can’t wait until she digs the Martian dirt and files her reports. Hope they’re as scurrilous as The Sun!

Is there a story to why you refer to Neville as "Bob?" Maybe it's been told and I just missed it. (And I heard it in Blackadder's voice, if you've ever seen that episode.)

A simple story, Christopher. Bob is the name (my second name) that my own family knew me as... because when I was very young, a kid down our road insisted on calling me Nevvie, which changed my folks view of my first name. I have many aliases, but only one name I write under.

Mrs H refers to me as neither of the above, Christopher, but as my school nickname. An avid Goon Show fan, I’d had the name since age 13 and in her school, Mrs H sat next to a girl I’d previously dated who’d had my nickname written all over her pencil case (I think she might have liked me🤔). So the night Mrs H and I met, she came up to me and asked if I was the owner of that odd name. All my in-laws and all their friends use that name, as well as many other of my own school friends. She refers to me by it even when she’s angry with me, which I try to keep to the minimum!😁
