Porters chairs are not designed to be propelled by the person in them, however understandable the growing impatience of the seemingly eternally umnperambulated patient may be. The wheels are too small low and hard to be comfortably reached or manually rolled if the mittens make it. Has this stopped attempts being made? What do you think? I think that if it happens again I'm going to leave them to their attempt to be a Sir Edmund Hillary of the corridor. The story of the man who wheeled his own trolley to theatre and self operated is apocryphal. I think.
