'Up and down the stairs all day. You practising to be another Sir Edmund Hillary ?'
'Well -'
'Oh I get it -"
'But.'
''-Don't interrupt. Yes I do think you're doing a Bumper Harris (who just had a wooden leg not a wooden head like some people .)
.Showing lift hoggers they needn't fear stairs as he
showed commuters the new escalator at Earls Court Underground was safe. What a nineteen eleven that was.'
''What d"you mean what-'
' I haven't. Got time. For this. Stop with going up and down and get yourself across somewhere.'

At first I thought that the title might be an anagram, the solution to which might help me to decipher the drabble, but I realise now that it probably wasn’t and that the reality might be that I’m just thick.🥴

...and a Google search later, it all makes sense! I might still be thick, but it seems that Google probably isn’t!😁 Bravo Jamie!

...Thick maybe, but at least I’ve learnt something new today!

Thanks Neville. I'm the one who's been thick. Too thick to realise I can't always shoehorn interesting facts into a short space and still produce a story that makes sense . ☺ ☺

That accidental repetition jogged a memory from my Am Dram days and I wrote a drabble about it. ☺

Remind me please, Jamie, of the title of your am dram drab 😁

And talking of underground escalators, I’ve had my own escalator drama with a very narrow escape from death at the Kings Cross fire in 1987. I referenced it in a drabble ‘Postscript’, which was itself a postscript to a series about my involvement in the Libyan Embassy shooting and siege. I think the Kings Cross escalator might be worthy of drabblification itself.

I .ust go back and read of your experiences. Was there a collective title.

The collective title was Siege. And the postscript was entitled Siege PS. When one adds them up I’ve been in quite a few near scrapes. over the years.🥴
