Jed had been delivering glass grass hoppers throughout the city all morning and contacted his base asking if he could take lunch.
'..Yes.'
But then being new at the job and uncertain of some things, he called again, ready to ask what time he should recommence furnishing folk with the melted sand Mantids.
But before he could ask, a controller said 'Ah you're back. Crack on!' and cut him off.
His Budgie later gave him a 'Some loose more than a lunch break' look, and he shot her a 'That's hardly the point.' look right back. Of course he did.

Fascinating... but I’m going to have to take time to decode, or more like
understand it🥴

I'm trying to decode how to write a straightforward tale with a beginning , middle, and end. ;-)

"Melted sand Mantids" is an awesome turn of phrase!

I loved the glass grasshoppers and melting sand mantids. Reminds me of the rubber spiders and lizards we used to scare off as kids.
