The rollercoaster looms to my right, towering over the abandoned structures underneath. I leave my home in the house of mirrors to find my breakfast. Past the Ferris wheel, past the midway until I reach what used to be the food court. Rummaging in an old cart, I manage to pull out some unidentifiable meat and moldy bread. Refrigeration died with the rest of the electricity.
I lean against a pole, chewing, and then I hear it. The unmistakable, impossible click-click-click of the coaster climbing to the top.
I turn around just in time to watch it fall.
