Simulated Punishment

He watched as his beautiful wife gave birth to their daughter. The three of them held each other as tears of joy erupted.

He watched as she took her first steps, cheering her on, her smile melting him.

He watched as he sees her stumble onto the road, a split second out of sight, struck down by a driver.

Suddenly he wakes up. Confronted by a mirror, he recognizes the face, the drivers face. The confusion settles.
