God, why was this decision so hard, Dave wondered, desperate to get away from work.

He had become increasingly irritable as he tried time after time to demonstrate the synergy between his company's infrastructure and his own needs.

Yet again he plotted the situation on his risk assessment interface and, yet again he saw a perfect triangle - two sides showing time and risk and a scarily steep hypotenuse.

He checked his watch, plotted a final point high up on his graph and sighed.

To hell with it, he muttered. I'm leaving on time tonight - it is my birthday after all.
