As a professional thief, eyes always made Dak cautious. Now, they made him nervous. Since the big crime wave, the law mandated that every resident become a human camera. Implants were everywhere. No more needing your word in court.
Dak prided himself on cleverness, however, and now he’d outdone himself. He’d planned the perfect crime. No cameras, human or otherwise. He pulled the job and left.
Later, at his apartment, the doorbell rang.
Arrested.
“How’d you know?” he asked.
Suspects were being retina scanned without their knowing it. As the cop put it, “It was all there, in your eyes.”
