Such is life, floating on a breeze. The same sky, same clouds, same sun
to squint at, and desire for some height, some command, some
recognition. Some fly without wind, know how to manoeuver a kite over
and around rooftops, satellite dishes, familiar trees. So much to know,
so much for advantage, shape, size, material and then the string. Invisible,
coated with glass shards, to take down the kites of rivals. The same sky,
same clouds, the celebration, neighbors and friends looking up, looking
and all their necks stretched so, and the glass coated string, invisible,
cutting through the air.

This terrible story is so brilliantly told, D.M. You have lifted us up, metaphorically, and then crashed us down. Despite the awful reality in India, this is a brilliant drabble to dramatise it. So very topical too, as you always are.

Thanks Neville!

Thank you! Haven't been writing .. the dog died after 3 months of medication
and hopefulness... It's a true cowboy song as everything else seemed to collapse.

That is particularly sad, D.M. I am so sorry; it must have been very difficult over the last three months. I am so glad you are back on the Drablr scene and look forward to your always thoughtful contribution. Welcome back.
