Early one morning, facing a long walk home after visiting friends, I decided to use the toilets at the bottom of Bath Road.
The lights were out; the facilities were empty. I took up position and suddenly, out of the shadows, a figure appeared. No features were discernible, and I can’t say now whether it lunged toward me or merely moved close. It made no sound.
I got the hell out of there.
I later discovered that in 1961 a man was stabbed in those toilets. No one was ever convicted of his murder.
The facilities have since been demolished.

Eeps...that would be a moment followed by a measured amount of alcohol for me. All the best.

Daring myself to read this again when it's dark! :-)

Damn! Chilling stuff but I'm now wondering if there's a displaced, somewhat 'homeless' ghost.
