John’s life became very difficult when his spinal nerves compressed. He could sit. He could sleep but he couldn’t walk far without unbearable back pain. Painkillers were ineffective. Physiotherapists were all Goldilocks trained.

A neighbour gave him a walker which was old and cumbersome but freed him to roam. The miracle wheels smoothed away the pain.

When he bought a new one his happiness was boundless. The light weight walker was modern and sleek drawing the admiring glances from passers-by that are normally reserved for cute little dogs. He could go places he couldn’t before. Freedom on three wheels.
