I like you, you know it
And I know you like me
I can tell what you’re asking
As your words I foresee.
So then pray don’t be bashful
There’s no need to fret
My answer affirmative
A yes you will get.
But first you must ask it
I won’t take the lead
My mother has taught me
Convention to heed
But at last I can see that
Your courage returns
And the thought of your question
Inside me it burns.
“Will you...” you falter
As your hand I caress
“Will you have chocolate cake?”
”Oh yes... YES, YES, YES!”

We sat there just gazing

With people a-milling
From there where we sat

The Gendarnes approaching

A masked man was running

Then the moment was over
