I stand there, motionless. Frozen. My mouth is dry as I ponder again and again how I got here.
I can sense them looking at me, ready to put me out of my misery. But not yet. They want to enjoy this first.
I've no idea how long I've been stood here, time seems to have slowed to the point where everything is in slow motion, even the rush of blood in my ears.
Pull yourself together man I think, as I look once more at my notes and deliver my best man's speech.
