The feelings that I thought would thicken
only serve now to sicken
and yet I find myself stricken....

I love to view the purple shades
of boundless color, it never fades,
except when meeting with the blades.

The ruminations of the past
are never, in fact, meant to last
unless your mind is in a cast.

The placement of these tender things
are not like that foolish bell that rings
but rather like that grief that brings.

The truth of the matter is such:
I feel I may have cared too much
and used pity of self as a crutch.

    Think of each triplet as a separate statement in this "life of pain," and it'll make more sense.
