The Black Poppies

Justine walked into her garden, and couldn't wait to plant her new seeds. During her trip to Asia, she'd found seeds for a rare black poppy. She planted the seeds, and waited for the beautiful flowers to bloom.

A month after her trip, Justine seemed to be losing her mind. Suddenly, she could hear screaming almost all the time, and see images of gore everywhere. Eventually, she was taken to an asylum after attacking a man on the street.

The poppies continued to grow the whole time, while everything else died from lack of care. It almost seemed like magic.
