The 13, The Digital

People wonder where they came from. Some say they were creations of the government. Some say aliens injected them into technology. Some even say the 13 created themselves.

The 13 say a greater presence made them: the Digital. A construct of the mass of information on computers and the internet that people believed they'd deleted, the Digital is a god, a god of our own creation that exceeds us all. It created the 13 to fix mankind, in all its imperfections.

Some believe this, but some do not. Either way, everyone says the same thing, "They are who rule now."
