Fire and Water Collide

Where do Fire and Water collide in a person?

They collide when that person is in the pit of their deepest darkness.

When that person feels like the world he or she once knew has changed completely, and for worse. Much worse.

They collide when the reality is that a deep emptiness is inside them that cannot be filled by anything. Not even another's love.

Yes, they collide when a person he or she loved has died. But it can happen at other times too.

However, this is not a perfect analogy. This Fire and Water don't extinguish each other.
