Ersatz Love

In a weird way, Susannah believed she loved him in that certain way that lasts forever. She would have done anything for him. However, the truth was that she did not love him. She could not love him. Not anymore. He was a pathetic excuse for a human being. He started spending all his time showing other girls more affection than she had seen from him in years. Unfortunately, she could not leave him, because he made her afraid, so she tricked herself into an ersatz love. Otherwise, he would beat her and do god knows what to their child.
