Today a letter arrived.
It had to do with life insurance.
I hadn’t requested any such coverage, and so called the company and was informed, that the policy was part of my remuneration package at the firm where I am currently employed.
“But I don’t want life insurance.”
“It’s heavily subsidized and the tax benefits are significant, it’s basically free money…?”
“I don’t trust life insurance.”
“Pardon?”
“I think it may be conducive to my premature death.”
“Well, then think of the security it provides for your family.”
“Exactly, no more reasons to not jump a bridge on Monday mornings?”
