I saw them in despair and tears.
I walked along with them for one last time.
A Poignant reminder of what I lost, what I would yearn for, what I can't have.
Only, they couldn’t see the tears in mine, my imprints in the sand.
They left, grief-stricken.
But I felt bereaved, to be apart from them.
I removed the coin out of my pocket. Held it to Charon to ferry me across the Styx to the Soul World.
I could hear them faintly, spells of my name.
I'll watch over them from faraway until we are whole again.

This is great, Verity. It prompted me to mug up on my Greek mythology and check my change to see if I had the odd obolus to pay the grumpy old ferryman, but I had Nyx.
