Délicieux

by

I’ve been told… the pearls that roll out of my tongue are bitter; yes, blame my coffee!!

The French Civil war gave birth to one of the finest blends, Chicory Coffee, in the Crescent City. Initially, chicory was added due to the scarcity of coffee and it softened the bitterness of roasted coffee. Now, the half and half of Chicory and Coffee is an eclectic blend.

For more than a century, Café du Mond has been serving the Café au lait, along with hot pillowy beignets loaded with powdered sugar.

Nice. I didn't know that about the French Civil War. But I don't drink coffee so I'll have to take your word for the rest of it!

I've had coffee over the years. There was a two-year period several years ago when I worked in an office that had a Keurig coffee pot and I drank specialty coffee every weekday morning for that whole two-year period. But it's not something I have to have, and it's been probably two or three years since I've had a cup.

Lovely drabble and I learned something too. I am a coffee drinker. As a matter of fact, I think I had coffee in my feeding bottle 😊
I never had the half half though. I will look for it.
