With a smile, I hide my colour
Can’t tell anyone, I lack valour.
Difficult to put myself to sleep
Every night into the pillow I weep.
Tomorrow will be okay I persist,
Everything seems harder to resist.

With tears on the couch I lay,
My inner voice has something to say.
Two choices from which you decide
Pick up the threads or let things slide.

Don’t search for inner peace, but you create
I am the master of my own fate

I won’t run from it now, but I will grow
And one day, I will race to the rainbow.

This is a deep poem I am attempting to decode and enjoying the process. I experience firstly feelings of sadness for the speaker but then optimism in the final two closed couplets. A simple choice, continue to loathe what you have or keep cracking on to find that pot of gold. (Hope I understood correctly🤔)

It's nice when you can be your own motivational speaker. Well done, Verity.
