Yellow Gravy

Lemon pepper is damn good on virtually everything. Deer meat especially. However, that night so long ago, ma put lemon pepper in the gravy mix and our gravy came out golden yellow, like melted butter but thick. It was definitely a conversation starter. Back in them days, us rednecks were on about anything that could make us open our eyes wide.

That yellow gravy was something that you just don't see on the kitchen table, even in small-town Oklahoma. And even now it's never seen again.

I tell you one thing was true: there wasn't a bit left over.
