Time Immemorial

I felt like making changes. I know, I'll give Time a break.
"Hey, Time, come here!"
Time came, running. I love being in charge.
"What d'yer want Boss?" she asked.
"Thinking of giving you a break," I said, "Stop time, it's the same boring thing, on and on."
"But I've done this since time immemorial," she looked shocked.
"I know, but never saw the point. So, what do you fancy doing instead?"
"I love this job. If time stops, how'll anyone know when their eggs are done?"
"OK, let me think."

We still have time.
I still love my eggs.
