The Dark

I hate getting dressed in the dark. I'm well prepared, clothes set out ready the night before, socks rolled and tucked in together in matching pairs, underpants folded front outwards, trousers folded the opposite way, shirt on hanger secured by top button only, matching tie draped over the shoulder. The suit jacket hanger resting on the top of the wardrobe, with the shirt hanger suspended from the lower rail, the trouser hanger from the shirt rail. Organised.

All the time she slumbers on in the dark, unaware, undisturbed. The kids sleep on.

I'll be bloody glad when it's Spring again.
