Ever wondered what affect on modern music if The Beatles hadn't taken the world by storm in the early 1960s? In turn they were influenced by the American music of a decade before.

Consider if British music from a generation earlier had American youth raving about Gracie Fields, George Formby or Billy Cotton?

I can imagine some Seattle music store in the early 1960s:

"Hey, we got this fantastic Fender Stratocaster, Vox wah wah pedal and Marshal amp rack that I could do a great deal on, Mr Hendrix."

"Nah, don't think so, Jimi's set his heart on a ukulele."

I'd like to have seen what Jimi could have done with a Uke!!

Me too, I guess it'd be a case of "when I'm breakin' winders" or even "all along the Blackpool Tower"

... or George Formby with a Fender Strat.
