The big gray house began to appear. The old man and woman always there to greet. This, the house of fear where nightmares lurk. I pretend I don't know this dwelling is more than meets the eye. The window showing it's face only in the darkest of night.
Screaming as if blood were being squeezed from my lungs, the face had humanized, it's hands with long nails grasped my small body, it was stealing my breath. Nails digging into my tender skin. The lights came on, the window shade went up, she laughed. Behind her the grim face smiled, waiting.
