I awake. I wonder why. And there she is.
The half-light of the moon fills the darkness with shadows. She is all hair, a twisted black mass, soaked and running with foul waters.
She moves, and I see her face. Small. Round. Pale. Streaked with dirt and bleached by death and tide and years locked away from the light.
Her eyes are black pits of empty hate, her mouth a thin, vicious line.
She waits.
I push back the covers and make room for her. She climbs in, curls up.
It’s nice she still comes to see her dad.

Creepy Awesomeness. Not even the bogeyman would dare read this before lights out.

Also - I showed this to a friend earlier, and he immediately pointed out that the girl in the story is quite similar to the girl in the remake of The Ring - this was intentional, I always felt a bit sorry for Samara. Quite pleased he recognised it.

Big fan of Hideo Nakata's "Ringu" although I thought that Verbinski did a fine job with the American remake. Really enjoyed the drabble, Jonathan.

Honestly I preferred Ju-on, but the ring will always hold a special place in my affections. Thanks.
