We made a plesiosaur together. Just for fun. I think dad enjoyed it as much as I did. It was made of chicken wire and clay. I painted it green. It never had a name; I doubt many plesiosaurs bothered with them anyway, so there was no loss there. But its neck was delicate and broke easily, which required the occasional patch and re-paint.

Dad taught us to ride our bikes. Drove us to school and back. Walked us around Cardiff city centre on a Saturday. There's just so much he gave me and my brother.

We miss him.

And suddenly 100 words feels so restrictive.

I know what you mean, Jeff, it must be impossible to encapsulate someone so important to you as your dad in so few words. But why stop at 100; there must be so many other stories in your memory bank and that of your brother to share that you can add to this as and when you recall them. It’s a lovely way to pay tribute to a father, who may no longer be with you in person, but will always be with you in your memory. I look forward to reading more.

Thanks both. There is more to be said, but not written. This is enough.
