They took my skin today.
Just peeled it off like so much cling film wrap.
It's been replaced, of course. A silvery metal nano mesh. It does the same job as my old skin, but it's much sturdier.
So now I'm silver. A mannequin of flexible steel.
There is pain. I can feel it. But the add on machines buried in my brain assist me in more than just memory, and access to the mesh-net. They disconnect the pain. Turned it into just a flashing light on a console that can be ignored.
Do not be afraid of upgrading.

I suppose it's a level of body horror. They could be taken to the extreme that they actually represent. Personally, while I'm all for assistive augmentation, I'd rather not upgrade ;)

If it'll rid me of irritating skin conditions I've had to deal with over the years I'll be the first in line. And silver is my favorite color anyway.
Great job, Jeff.
