The Pit

Chief inspector Thomas looked down into the pit. Bile caught in his throat and he turned away, fighting the nausea.

"How many Sergeant?"

"We've pulled a good five hundred out already. Obviously there are a lot more."

"Press are going to have a field day with this."

"That's not the half of it sir."

"What do you mean Sergeant?"

"There's... It's best you see for yourself sir."

Thomas frowned. "Really Sergeant?"

"You need to see it to really believe it."

"What the hell is left to believe? We found a mass grave!"

"Yes... but they're all the same person sir!"

Love it! Yet again, Jeff, you took me totally by surprise. I expected a surprise ending...but not that one. Agree with Drew, it takes the drabble into a completely different place. OOOOOOh! shivery! :-)
