The sky blinked and danced with the same array of stars that passed overhead every night. The constellations moved on their course and would be replaced by a new season soon. He had watched them many times before. The heavens didn’t change like the world around him, and many things had changed since his spinal column was destroyed. Earth was dead, decaying and dingy, just as he was. The rusted joints in his neck still moved, and it allowed him to watch the stars dance late at night as he waited for his brain to catch up with his body.
