Family at War

Today, our family holiday meal would be paella, that famous Spanish dish. My wife was chef for this culinary delight. By nature keen that all the family should enjoy her dishes, in true democratic fashion, she asked us what ingredients we would each like included in her paella.

After debate we decided upon chicken and chorizo as the meat element. But the choice of vegetables caused marital dissent. Mrs H loves including frozen peas in almost everything. I’m not keen. It was the war of the peas.

My daughter’s husband finally stopped the war by suggesting:

“Give peas a chance!”
