I’ve told you before about Hertfordshire’s top cover band. Last night they banged out covers at the village hall. I was there.

‘The 88’ were on top form, the guitarists cool as cucumbers, while the drummer erupted regularly into amazing feats of dexterity... and decibels. But the real energy came from the frontman who wouldn’t give anyone’s eardrums much downtime.

I stayed to the end, awaiting one particular song, House of Pain’s ‘Jump Around’. On the singer’s order, we jumped and jumped up and around! The oldest there, I continued to jump back at my own House of Pain.

Arthritis.
