The Scenic Route

With all the trunk roads out of Suffolk compromised by roadworks, we decided to go home the slower scenic route via pretty villages and towns.

The first gem was Long Melford - ancient, pretty and very long!

Next.... to pretty Clare - she wasn’t there!... so we sat in café watching through the window, trying to spot her!

Then onwards along narrow roads to Steeple Bumpstead. With such a strange name I decided to search for the steeple. I did see loads of country bumpsteads on the streets, but no sign of the steeple.

Then off down memory lane for Mrs H...
