The Lady Sewer

by Peter Henderson

The old lady in the corner was always sewing away.
She would make something marvelous from day to day.
To meet her you found she was ever so sweet.
Her fabric she sewed was beside her, packed ever so neat.
Some complex quilt pieces she sewed were an amazing feat.
Always regularly went to see what she made.
Sadly over time, her health was starting to fade.
There were some days she did nothing, just sat there and layed.
Then a friend told me with tears in the eye.
That the old lady sewer had no time and would die.

Sad!😢 But I guess there was lots of her left behind in the things she’d sewn. Touching.
