He sat on the balcony of his mountain retreat overlooking Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps. Everything was going according to plan. The SS were posing as Poles and attacking the German radio station Sender Gleiwitz in Gleiwitz, Poland. This was Heydrich's plan; it was just the provocation needed to launch the subsequent attack on Poland the following day. Soon Europe would be reunited with the Fatherland. Then, the rest of the world would be under the rule of the Third Reich.
Winter is coming, Herr Hitler thought. And all of Europe is about to feel the chill.

This came from a prompt on the Drablr Twitter page. The prompt is "Winter is coming," but I thought I would do a different kind of approaching winter. I actually learned something researching the invasion of Poland. I didn't know the SS staged a fake attack on one of the German radio stations in Poland to use as propaganda in justifying their attack on that country.
