J.R. opened the balcony door, grabbed his goblet and went out, onto the balcony.

The fireworks started, filling the air with noise and fume.

On the table to the left lay a worn-out book.
Strange symbols filled the cover.

The man took the volume, opened it and chanted:
“If the radiance of a thousand suns
were to burst at once into the sky
that would be
like the splendor of the Mighty One
and I am become Death
the shatterer of worlds.”

Tears welled up in his eyes, as he returned inside.
